Data Protection

NOVA TECH LTD is committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of its users, in compliance with local data protection laws in Mauritius. By using the OnlyEat® platform, the user consents to the collection and use of their data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Types of Data Collected

When creating an account or placing an order, NOVA TECH LTD collects the following information:

  • First name, last name

  • Email address

  • Delivery address for the ordered product

  • Phone number

  • Payment information (processed through a secure provider)

  • Any additional information (comments, allergies, etc.)

NOVA TECH LTD also automatically collects data when the OnlyEat® site is used, such as:

  • IP address

  • Browsing history

  • All data collected through cookies as stated in Article 8.1.

Purposes of Data Collection

The collected data is used exclusively for:

  • (i) Order Management: Preparing and delivering meals ordered via the OnlyEat® platform; ensuring communication between the user, the delivery person, and the partner restaurant.

  • (ii) Service Improvement: Optimizing user experience on the platform, analyzing behavior to offer personalized recommendations.

  • (iii) Fraud Prevention and Security: Detecting and preventing fraudulent or unauthorized activities; ensuring the security of online transactions.

  • (iv) Marketing Communication: Sending promotional offers and/or newsletters.

Data Retention Period

All data referred to in this Article 9.1. is retained only for the time necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, and at most:

  • For a period of 5 years for data collected during an order

  • For a period of 13 months for data collected via cookies

  • For a period of 3 years for marketing data.

Once these periods expire, the data will be destroyed.

Data Recipients

NOVA TECH LTD only shares personal data with authorized and identified recipients. These recipients include:

  • The relevant departments of NOVA TECH LTD

  • Partner restaurants for order management

  • Delivery personnel for meal delivery

  • Any authorized subcontractors

Data Security

NOVA TECH LTD uses advanced technologies to protect data against:

  • Unauthorized access

  • Loss

  • Disclosure

These measures include:

  • Encryption of sensitive data (e.g., payment information)

  • Use of firewalls to secure IT systems

  • Access control to databases

NOVA TECH LTD also collaborates with third-party providers for payment processing, delivery management, and marketing campaigns. It ensures that these partners protect user data and use it solely within the scope of services provided to NOVA TECH LTD.

User Rights

Users have the following rights:

  • (i) Right of Access: The user can request a copy of the personal data held by NOVA TECH LTD.

  • (ii) Right to Rectification: The user can request to correct any inaccurate or incomplete data.

  • (iii) Right to Deletion: The user can request the deletion of their personal data, unless retention is necessary to comply with a legal obligation.

  • (iv) Right to Object: The user can object to the use of their data for direct marketing or analytics.

  • (v) Right to Data Portability: The user can request that their data be transferred to another provider in a structured format.

To exercise these rights, users may contact NOVA TECH LTD via the contact address provided in the OnlyEat® app. NOVA TECH LTD will respond within 30 working days.

Changes to the Privacy Policy

NOVA TECH LTD reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Any changes will be notified to users via the OnlyEat® app or website, along with an update to the last modified date.

Complaints

In the event of a dispute regarding the processing of personal data, the user may:

  • Contact the NOVA TECH LTD customer service via the contact address available on the OnlyEat® app
  • File a complaint with the competent authority in Mauritius: Data Protection Office
